This is definitely worth the price. The day after it arrived, I managed to sprain an index finger and this unit (with and without heat) took out most of the discomfort and allowed some flexibility without pain. Have used it on shoulders and on my foot which is partially numb due to nerve damage. It worked wonders. I loved my old unit that died, but this replacement is even better. Definitely a ‘keeper’.

I’ve had HomeMedics and Conaire and several other brands, and I’ve been very disappointed in all of them. But the Wahl vibrates right down to the bone and gets to the source of the trouble. For half the cost of an hour with a masseur, you can pleasure yourself for hours! Highly recommended.

Just wanted to echo the other reviewers. High setting gives good vigorous body massage. Low setting can be used for scalp or face. One note is that product not good for reaching to upper back – Homedics seems to have products better for that. The head assortment can also be useful, but not sure how important the heat option is. The best thing I found about the heat option is that I like that particular head best for body massage.

Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R3CLSFF1WMPWW6 This is my first attempt at doing an Amazon video review for a product I have purchased. Today I will be reviewing a total of 3 Homedics massage products. This one in particular is the Homedics SBM-500H Therapist Select Shiatsu One Massaging Cushion w/ Heat.

I particularyly enjoy this product because it covers both back and shoulder areas and the rollers for me go all the way down my lower back and the shoulder rollers hit my traps just right (after lowering it to the max)

Pros: Everything about this product I love!

Cons: Shoulder rollers have to be adjusted all the way down for me to use it (I’m 5’6″ in height).

Every few months I wake up with a really stiff, burning muscle in my lower neck or shoulders. I have found that, if I can enlist someone to do so, a strong kneading of the affected area brings immediate and often lasting relief. But — here’s the rub — my significant other travels a lot so I am sometimes left to my own devices. On more than one occasion I have driven to the mall to sit in one of the ,000 Sharper Image massage chairs for relief (seems I can never book a short-notice “real” massage). So, this weekend, when I woke up with a stiff, burning muscle in my right shoulder blade, I started researching more affordable massage cushions (I already have an easy chair) which led me to buy the SBM-500H. After my first hour of use I’m ready to say it was worth the money. Most cushions do not go high enough to massage your shoulders but this model has a seperate upper pad for that area. Those rollers can be raised or lowered via the remote control (but not widened or narrowed, which would be nice too). Because the back of the pad is rather tall (even for my 6’1″ frame) my head hits it which makes it harder to press my sholders into the upper massage rollers. But I managed to do so. The lower rollers do a good job on the main back area. Both upper and lower have seperate heat functions, which work well. While not as good as the expensive chairs, at one-tenth the price it did the trick (no more neck ache!). As for price I am a HUGE Amazon fan but did buy this model at Linen’s & Things (Bed, Bath & Beyond has them too) using one of their ubiquitous discount coupons.

This is the third massage item I bought with the Homedics brand. Impressive! As a very serious exercise enthusiast this machine has the unusual power to calm and restore even the most fatigued muscles. Now two months with the product, I found my recovery time has dramatically improved as well.

The massager works the back and shoulders and their various pressure points with a “deep tissue” style. This is serious massage- and excellent at that!!

Strong 5 stars.

The Knobble II by the Pressure Positive Company, Sapphire Blue

he Knobble II is the newly designed cousin of the all-wood classic favorite of therapists and self care enthusiasts. Still about the size of a standard doorknob, it is made of durable polymer. The base is held in the palm of the hand, and the smoothly rounded tip is used to apply pressure to trigger points in soft tissue. The Knobble II has the added benefit of a soft band of non-latex, Santoprene around the base that allows for friction techniques. Bodyworkers often use the Knobble II to save wear and tear on their hands when applying deep, prolonged pressure to knots or strands of contracted muscle. But the Knobble II is not meant to replace your healing hands, only to help them do more and last longer. Remember to position yourself in su

What a handy little device. While there are lots of little massagers on the market, this one had a lot of cool features:

-just the right size (about as big as a doorknob)

-the tip is really smooth to decrease friction (some massagers can “catch”)

-has this rubber stuff around the top where you grip it so it doesn’t slip around

-looks prettier sitting around than other massagers :)

So who needs one? Just about anyone with sore muscles. The idea here is that sore and painful muscles have little irritable knots/spots in them, called trigger points, that cause pain. The cure? Rubbing them and working them out. While you could do this with your bare fingers, this can put a lot of stress on them over time and do damage. Also, using this device will enable you to massage longer- a definite plus! Useful for everyday sore muscles, or when trying to get rid of a chronic problem, consider this little tool- you won’t regret it. Those with elbow tendiitis might also want to check out Treat Your Own Tennis Elbow. Happy massaging!

I really wanted to buy the more expensive metal tool that could have ice or heat in it but just couldn’t justify the price. Boy, am I glad I bought the Knobble II instead! Even though it doesn’t look like much, it really can get deep into those areas of your body that have knots and spasms. With just a light pressure, it really works them out. Before, I was practically numbing my husband’s thumb having him do pressure point. His thumb would hurt and shake from having to push so hard. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who has spasms or knots they want out. It can be used by yourself, but having someone else do it gets a better angle.

I was the type that actually wedged my TV remote in places on my back – trying to get relief to those pressure points. Now I can reach them easily. I also use the edge to roll on sore muscles to massage.

If you are the type that can’t take pain on these areas, you wont like it. It is hard and really does the job at applying deep pressure to these points.
